Wonderful night!

I took the performance in the old church last night.
It is a session of tap dance and drum and pipe organ.
Organ of the church did not have the repair 250 years.
It will repair. We will not be able to hear the sound for a while.
There was a very powerful!
Ceiling is very high church. So sound was very sound.
Bravo! !

Thank you for a wonderful night!

And my project will start from tomorrow .
I will meet with the parents and students of Japanese school in Amsterdam.
They do Hanami in the park.
I’ll do a throw pillow as an event there. I am very excited!

Food with Foot ( leg) / 食べ物に足

kroket

April 5th

At my last presentation.

I’ve heard a funny story from a guest.

It was story of ” a growing legs Kroket”

He said,

” A growing legs Kroket” can walk.

” A growing legs Kroket” means ” That Kroket goes bad” (spoilage)

Now I remember,

There is a similar word in Japan.

It’s “足が速い” (Ashi- Ga- Hayai)

It’s “Swift of foot” in English.

this word meanse ” A food spoils quickly”

Both of them relate to foot(leg)

Food with foot(leg) means spoilage.

It’s interesting!

Dutch and Japanese have quite different culture and language.

But, there is a similar word.

I think, differences are interesting. Finding similarities is a fun.

4月5日の最終プレゼンテーションで、来てくださったゲストの方からある面白い話を聞きました。

それは「足の生えたクロケット」の話で、その方いわく、「足の生えたクロケットは歩ける。つまり、そのクロケットは行ってしまった、

腐ってしまった、ということを意味しているんだよ」と。

今、思い出したのですが、日本にも、似たような言葉があります。

「足が速い」です。この言葉は、腐りやすい食べ物を意味しています。

両方とも、足が関係しています。「食べ物に足」は腐ることを意味している。面白いことです。

オランダと日本では、異なった文化、言葉を持ちます。でも、類似した言葉もある。

私は思うのです。

違うことは、面白い。

類似を見つける事は楽しい。と。

Having a coffee at a table outside/ テラス席で珈琲を

Giny-san (Mrs.nishigori) said, “why don’t Japanese people have an outside-table at cafe ?”

Local people seem to like having a tea or coffee at  outside table,indeed.

But, actually, I have never done it.

” It’s beautiful day today! so, I’ll try to do it !” I thought.

And then, I tried it.

But… how can I say about my feeling…

Oh, ” Taking a bath at outside”

That’s it !

Anyway, I’ll try again!

I come to like outside table.

ヒニーさんが「なぜ、日本人はテラス席にすわらないの？」とおっしゃいました。

確かに、地元の方々は外のテーブルで紅茶やコーヒーを飲むのが本当に好きなようです。

でも、じつは、私はそれをしたことがありません。

「今日はいい天気だし、テラス席、試してみようかな」と思い、やってみました。

が。・・・この感じ、なんと言ってよいのか・・・

あ、「外でお風呂に入ってる」（落ち着かない・・・）感じ、でしょうか！

なんにせよ、またやってみます。（楽しくなってきました。慣れですね）

Old-Dutch-Style kitchen

When Hannie came to my room(Deshima AIR’s)
She looked the kitchen table(kitchen sink)and she said, “it’s an Old- Dutch-style kitchen“
It’s made of stone,and it has small,small stones in it.
“It’s an Old-Dutch-Style kitchen“
When I visited anne Frankmuseum , I remembered this word what she said.
Because there was the same kitchen table as my room’s…

Hannieさんがレジデンスの部屋に来てくれた時、台所の流し台を見て、「これは古いオランダ様式の台所ね」と教えてくれました。それは、石でできていて、その中に小さな、小さな石が入ったものです。
「これは古いオランダ様式の台所」
アンネの家を訪れた時、その言葉を思い出しました。そこに、部屋のものと同じ様式の台所があったから。kitchin

Wind mill / 風車

March 24th
西郡さんがザーンセ・スカンスへ連れていってくださいました。
ザーンセ・スカンスは風車で有名な所です。
言わば、「ｻﾞ・オランダ」な所です。
たくさんのお土産ものやさんがあり、私の「お土産」プロジェクトの勉強になりました。
なにより、「オランダ」を感じられた１日でした。
★風車は現役でつかわれており、木材を切ったり、ピーナッツをすり潰してオイルを作ったり、絵の具を製造したりしていて、内部も見学できるようになっています。

I went to Zaanse schans with Nishigori-san.
Zaanse schans is famous for wind mill.
It was “that’s Holland!“ , so to speak.
There are many souvenir shops.
So.it relates to my 「OMIYAGE」project.
I’ve learn a lot!
More than anything else,I could feel “Holland“ Today

(March 21) The DELFT is blue

I went to Delft with Emiko-san and Takashi-san.
Lately I’m interested in “Delft blue” and I’m making drawings by blue colors.
Blue-painted food doesn’t look delicious.
Blue-painted person doesn’t look healthy…

I think holland has some colors.
Sexy-red (It’s red light district)
Delft-blue,
And orange!(It’s said that orange is holland’s color)
chulips are colorful.

(March 16th) Light is red

I went to the sexy area with Hannie.
I mean… it’s “Red light district”
There is everything at Amsterdam.
A church(holy place), “sexy place” “coffee shop”…
We have only to choose by ourselves.

Anyway,that day was March 16th and still cold.
So, I said they(sexy girls)”Make warm! so you don’t catch a cold…” in my mind.
But, next day, I cought a cold.

STROOP WAFEL

DSC00089[1]Stroop wafel is famous sweets in Holland.
I like stroop wafel.
I did try out them and I made goods of strop wafel as my works.
…But, may be I’ve eaten too much stroop wafels last week.
So, I think try to eat another food this week.

教育

オランダのある家庭にお邪魔してきました。ちょっと、驚いたのは、日本でいう中学校に入学したときからは母国語（ここではオランダ語）の授業以外は英語で授業が行われるとのこと！スタート時には全然分からなくてもいいとのことで、しばらくはオランダ語でもサポートしてくれるそうですが、クリスマスを過ぎるころにはだんだんそのサポートも少なく厳しくなってくるそうです。でも、その頃には皆英語で話せるようになってくるんだとか。

さらには、英語以外にも第二（第三かも！？）外国語を選択し勉強するそうで、フランス語、ドイツ語など選択できるそう。一体、何カ国語を習得するんでしょうか！？

オランダである程度どの年代の方でも英語が話せるし、若い世代はほとんどみな自由に話しています。その理由がちょっとだけ理解できました。また、ここでは、様々な国や文化の異なった人達が住んでいたり、旅行で訪れたりしていますが、やはり共存して行く為、お互いの理解の為にも共通の言語は必須なのだと感じますし、港町のここは、交流する事がすきなのかもしれません。

インタビュー

ここ出島AIRの協力のお陰で、オランダの食卓のリサーチを行いました。実際にここオランダの人たちはどんな食卓で、どんなものを普段食べているのかな？という単純な疑問と、実際にオランダの人が私のつくる器をどう感じるのか？ということを知りたかったから。その協力してくれたオランダの人がインタビューに協力してくれました。その中で面白かった事は、”もの”に対して手間をかけることで、その表情の変化だったり、美しさだったりいろんなことに気づくことができたと話してくれたこと。あるご夫婦の個人的な意見ですので、皆がそうであるとはおもいませんが、あ、なにか繋がる感覚があるんだなと実感したインタビューでした。_MG_8339
