2017 – Japanese Garden

春風 Haru kaze,  Spring breeze,

Saturday 29th April Toshikazu Marumachi will give a performance with Klaas Hekman in the Japanese garden in The Hague (Clingendael).

This is the opening day of the Japanese style garden, which is open to the public only 8 weeks a year. The combination of traditional Noh theater and contemporary improvisation music will give an unique touch to the garden.

Klaas Hekman is an improviser, bassaxophonist, flutist and composer. He is specialized in the bass saxophone. Over the ensuing years his illustrious portfolio has included events with large saxophone ensembles, theatre productions, and dance music. He also plays the Shakuhachi, a Japanese bamboo flute.
